Memorial Day...

Mimi and Collin...
Aunt Jenny with Lily...
Mimi and Grandad with the kiddos...

We all went to Mimi and Grandad's for Memorial Day on Monday.  Collin had a blast playing with Lauren as usual.  It was such a gorgeous day to be outside!  It makes me so excited for this summer!

PS.  Nana, thanks for the adorable Memorial Day outfit for Lily!

Here she is eating her sign.  Yes...she loves to eat!!!

Our sweet squishy-squash!

Sorry for the delay in posting lately : )  Lily is 8 months old now.  This has been a pretty transforming month for her.  She has learned to crawl, pull herself up on things and has cut her two bottom teeth.  They aren't completely up yet, but you can see the white tips of them that have cut through her gums.  At least we know she has some now!

Aunt Stacie, Mimi and Lily....

Sunday was both Mother's Day and Todd's birthday.  I feel like the luckiest mom in the world to have two amazing children and an amazing husband to go along with it.  I just love being a mom and could not imagine my life without the two bundles of joy we were given by God.  What a blessing!

We had Todd's family over Sunday afternoon for hamburgers and hot dogs.  It's so great getting to spend time with everyone.  I feel so blessed to have his family so close.  It's always a good time and they help out so much!    Collin and Lauren had a blast playing outside together.  Lauren ended up with a busted lip after they collided into each other, but she's okay.  She's a tough girl!  If you ask Collin, he will tell you that the highlight of the party was the cookie cake!

Loads of laundry...

We were out of a dryer last week because ours broke so we had to buy a new one.  We (I) had a ton of laundry to catch up on all week.  Here's a picture of the kids helping out.

Taking after Papa...

What a fierce smirk...

In case you are wondering....the answer is yes.  Collin wears the blue baseball hat EVERY day.  He puts it on from the moment he wakes up and wears it right up to the moment he goes to bed.  He even puts it on right when he gets out of the bathtub.  He wants to wear it to bed, but we make him take it off so his little head can breathe.  I think it's safe to say that it has taken the place of the red cowboy hat he used to wear all of the time.

Nana and Papa got Collin the cutest bike for Christmas.  He loves to ride around on it.  He's getting a little better at pushing the peddles around and steering.  It looks like he's on a motorcycle in the picture.  I just had to post it because I thought it was so funny!

Learning new things...

Lily is loving her baby food now.  A lot changes in a week.  Last week she wouldn't even open her lips and now she is licking her lips.  I guess she just had to learn to acquire the taste.  We are going through abut 2 jars of baby food a day now.  Sweet potatoes are her favorite.

Lily is starting to figure out that she can actually go places now.  She usually starts in the sitting position and rocks forward to all fours.  Then, she starts rocking back and forth.  It's so cute.  She doesn't really go anywhere, but it's the thought that counts.  She will have it down in no time.  Colin's in trouble once she starts going after his toys.

Collin cracks me up.  The other day he said "Mom, are you a girl?"  I said "yes" and he said "I take care of you" and he gave me a big hug.  It was so sweet.  Todd's been teaching him to be nice to girls and to take care of them and treat them like princesses.  Also, we were pulling out of the garage today and Collin saw Todd's bike.  He said, "Mom you don't have a bike?"  I told him no I didn't and he said "we need to go to Target and get you one."  I think that's a hint that we shop at Target too much!
